What’s In A Name? Why Our Name Is The Wellness Exchange

The Wellness Exchange.

Choosing this name did not come easy to me. It took a long time to process and choose the name I wanted to represent my future. To represent myself, my team, my store, our culture, everything we stand for. I knew what I wanted my store to look like, feel like, represent. I knew how I wanted my stores to make people feel, but how could I put all of that feeling into one name?

I went through six or seven names before I landed on The Wellness Exchange. But why? When I broke it down, it started becoming a lot more clear for me.  

WELLNESS

The quality or state of being healthy in body and mind, especially as the result of deliberate effort. It’s not just about an individual.

Wellness is an all encompassing word, which extends to our daily lives, our home and our community. We find ourselves now more than ever really paying attention to our wellness. Not just looking at what we put in our body and how we treat ourselves, but also, as a community, we are taking care of each other.

I hold the belief that an investment in each other is an investment in ourselves. 2020 proved that. So the word “wellness” seemed like a natural fit.  

EXCHANGE

Something that is given or received in exchange or substitution for something else.

Now more than ever we appreciate the people around us. We appreciate the small things in life, the exchange of a hug, a conversation, an idea. The word exchange truly encompases who we are. We don’t just exchange goods at the Wellness Exchange, we exchange moments, knowledge, ideas. We create friendships, connections bonds and we build each other up.

2020 was tough on everyone. And we find ourselves now more than ever really paying attention to our wellness. Not just looking at what we put in our body and how we treat ourselves, but also, as a community, we are taking care of each other. At the Wellness Exchange we want to help you on your wellness journey. Whatever that may mean to you. It’s not a one size fits all and we understand that. Whether you are looking to make a lifestyle change or simply looking to learn, we are here to help. My goal is to build a an all encompassing wellness community.  

COLOURS

We aren’t your typical wellness store. We are different. That is why we chose colours that are different from what you normally see. Out with the green and brown and in with the bright energetic colours. These colours represent our energy, our uniqueness and our diversity. We don’t just have one brand colour we have FIVE beautiful bold colours to help us represent everything we are!
